Holly's Chinoiserie-Inspired Home

Place: 4-bedroom apartment
Style: Inviting, Elevated, Colourful & Traditional
Objective: Overhaul the apartment's style and help organise the space
Location: Mid-Levels
ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

Holly was looking to create a home with character. She wanted something timeless, with just the right amount of colour and charm, and space that could flex with family life. We worked closely with her to reimagine each room, blending style with practicality.
PROJECT INTRO
Holly’s vision for her Mid-Levels home was simple: she wanted it to feel classic, but not boring. Colourful, but not loud. A place that felt equal parts refined and lived-in, where her family could really settle in. We took cues from chinoiserie detailing and layered in texture through soft textiles, natural wood, and thoughtful finishes. Since maximising space is always a factor, we made sure each area had room for more than one purpose. That meant plenty of storage and layouts that made room for both work and play. The end result is a warm, textured home that balances refinement with ease.
LIVING & Dining ROOM
Making communal spaces classy
The living and dining areas bring the home's character to life. In the living room, chinoiserie-style panels add softness, while a powder blue couch brings in colour in a calm, understated way. Most of the furniture has legs to keep the space feeling light and open. The dining area stays understated and functional with a wood table, bench seating, and minimal gold pendant lights. Gold accents carry throughout the space to connect the two areas with a quiet sense of cohesion.

Home Office + Piano Room
Bold hues, smart functionality
The home office takes on a bolder look with rich colours that bring drama and depth. The bookshelf was something the client already owned, which we repainted to match the space. A custom-built desk runs the length of the window to give plenty of room for work and focus. Shelving frames the piano area and keeps things feeling organised, while the open design puts books and keepsakes on full display.

PlayRoom
All play, no mess
This room was all about fun! The family wanted the kids’ bedroom to stay calm and restful, so we carved out a separate playroom where they could go wild. Storage was key, and the custom shelving makes space for books, toys, and board games without clutter. It also doubles as a mini cinema, with a projector set up for movie nights and weekend lounging.
