ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

Theo & Iris

Avatar

Theo and Iris purchased their apartment with plans to transform it into a light, open home that better reflected their daily lives. As a musically driven couple, they needed space for their instruments while keeping the atmosphere uncluttered and easy to live in.

PROJECT INTRO

When Theo and Iris purchased their apartment, they saw past its tired interiors and recognised the potential for something bright, open, and deeply personal. As a musically driven household, they wanted a home that could comfortably accommodate their instruments and creative routines without feeling crowded or chaotic.

We worked closely with them to transform the space from the ground up, replacing flooring and cabinetry, planning recessed lighting, and selecting furnishings that enhanced both function and flow.

LIVING & DINING ROOM
Light, open, and shaped around music

The entrance opens into a combined living and dining area designed to feel open. To accommodate the piano without overwhelming the space, we focused on maintaining clear sightlines and a calm palette that allows the room to breathe.

Curved built-in cabinetry softens the architecture and improves flow, echoed by a rounded coffee table and gently contoured TV console. Cream tones keep the space bright, while sheer curtains diffuse sunlight and provide privacy without darkening the room. Space was also reserved for a cello, reinforcing the room’s role as both a living area and a creative space.

BEDROOM
Simple does it

The bedroom was conceived as a peaceful sanctuary, free from visual noise and designed for rest. Soft tones and clean lines create a soothing backdrop, while carefully chosen furnishings ensure the room feels complete without becoming crowded.

BATHROOM
From outdated to outstanding

The ensuite bathroom was long overdue for an update. New tiling and flooring establish a clean base, while brushed-brass hardware adds warmth and contrast. Marble countertops elevate the space, and integrated LED light strips make the room feel brighter and more considered. The result is a functional, refined bathroom that feels more with the times and easy to use every day.

GUEST ROOM
Flexible comfort for guests and everyday use

The guest room was designed to be adaptable, functioning as both a comfortable lounge, closet space and a sleeping space when needed. A sofa with a pull-out bed allows the room to transition easily, while built-in cabinetry maximises storage without adding visual weight.

A low open-side table and a minimalist floor lamp keep the space practical yet uncluttered. The overall feel is warm, simple, and welcoming, ready for visitors while remaining useful day to day.
