Karman was an absolute joy to work with. She gave us authentic feedback along the way, which made the collaboration effective and enjoyable. Her straightforwardness in telling us what she liked and didn’t like as we presented ideas was super helpful.
Karman wanted to put together the perfect home for her new young family. When Karman reached out to us, she and her husband had bought a new home at Bel-air near Pok Fu Lam, and at the time, she was pregnant and expecting her first child within months. With such important new life milestones on the horizon for Karman…we got to work right away!
In the living room, Karman was moving into the flat with her existing sofa, so we curated a selection of pieces that worked with it and the rest of the interior design. We picked a cowhide rug to add texture to the base of the room, and we also felt like the gradient “caught” the sunlight well with its oh-so-slight sheen.
The simple and beautiful wooden floor lamp and the plants helped add some organic elements to the living room, especially the seating area. Finally, we went with a tone-on-tone styling strategy that wouldn’t be too boring. To do that, we added pops of colours and grey cushions of different textures to add interest to the living room.
With a partially open kitchen at Bel-Air On The Peak, we wanted to create a space that felt self-contained for Karman’s family and their dinner guests. We picked a dining table and chairs that were neutral and gave off an air of sophistication.
To add some contrasts and energy to the room, we decided to pick a few pendant lights and arrange them as chandeliers. We hung them at different angles and heights, instead of just a straight line, to make it visually interesting.
This was the nursery for their new baby girl. While Karman and her husband liked the idea of a pink feature wall, they didn’t want it to be too flamboyant. We picked a dusty pink wall as it was chic but not overly girly when paired with the white wall and oak wood furniture. The goose feather pendant light was an installation in and of itself. We really liked how it added such a warm touch to the nursery. See how dreamy it was when it glowed!
